This film explores real life stories and experiences of how patients, nurses and midwives have been in situations where they have heard the right or wrong things and how that has made them feel. It was made to promote mindfulness and really thinking about how to talk and deal with patients and seeing the impact your words have on them and their emotions. This film has since been used by several health trusts around the country.
Tuberculosis remains a serious health challenge in Africa, especially when coupled with HIV, leading to a high mortality rate. We join Sailesi Kapalepale from Namputho Village in Malawi as he recounts his experience contracting the virus. We also learn how the Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) implemented a 'TB Local Organisation Network' to create an infrastructure to navigate the challenges communities deal with when faced with TB, and to get those suffering the help they need.
